Melbourne’s Avalon Airport has today enlisted one of Australia’s most loved personalities, Shane Jacobson as ambassador to spearhead its brand awareness campaign in 2020.

The award-winning personality, presenter and entertainer will front Avalon Airport’s marketing campaign to showcase the great benefits that come with flying at the Australian-owned airport located just 50kms from Melbourne CBD.

The star of Kenny and The Dressmaker said travelling can often be a stressful experience, but the secret to flying starts at the very beginning of the journey. By collaborating with Avalon Airport, he hopes to inform holidaymakers that commuting interstate and overseas can be super affordable and stress-free.

“I’m so excited to be part of an airport that is actively making travel more affordable and less hassle for everyday Australians to explore not only our own country but take a bit of a break abroad,” Shane Jacobson said.

“We all love to travel but let’s be honest, none of us enjoy the hassle that usually occurs at an airport. We’re going to make the hard bits simple and leave the fun bit fun,” he said.

Avalon Airport CEO, Justin Giddings, said this is an exciting time for the company and is thrilled to have one of Australia’s best stars as part of the Avalon Airport family.

“We’re honoured to have Shane Jacobson on board as a brand ambassador. He is just the perfect fit for Avalon Airport. He is well-loved, warm, friendly, funny and an all-round good bloke,” Mr Giddings said.

“With Shane’s help, we want to educate Victorians and bring awareness to the fact that it’s easier to travel with Avalon Airport. From quality of service and punctuality to ease of parking and checking-in, flying can be easy, stress-free and an enjoyable experience.”

“We’re thrilled to be kicking the decade off with this partnership and it’s one of the first of many announcements to come in 2020. It follows the weekend’s exciting event where we saw the first flight from Bali touch down with Indonesian airline, Citilink. Bali has been our most requested international destination so it’s fantastic to see Citilink Indonesia commence daily flights between Avalon Airport and Denpasar, Bali,” he said.

Avalon Airport, owned by the Linfox Group, aims to offer travellers with a convenient, uncomplicated and time-efficient service through pocket-friendly fares.

“We are Victorians for Victorians. We have invested more than $100 million in upgrading the airport’s facilities and infrastructure. Our priority is to provide holiday-goers with a much easier and cheaper option to travel both internationally and interstate,” said Avalon Airport Executive Chairman, David Fox.

“Flying with Avalon Airport means cheaper parking, less waiting time, no queues, on-time departures, free trolleys, no hassles and high quality, friendly service. That’s why Avalon Airport is the secret to flying,” Mr Fox said.
